Reading Nooks & Buying Books
This week's BookTok roundup covers cozy reading corners and the perils of shopping at bookstores.
WHAT WOMEN WANT- All women want is a little nook where they can sit and read. ♥️
WE MAKE NO SENSE- From refusing to buy a book we’ve been dying to read or spontaneously having to poop, we make no sense when shopping at Barnes & Noble.
If you always find yourself running to the bathroom at bookstores, you’re not alone. It’s called the Mariko Aoki Effect, and it refers to the laxative effect of the smell of paper and ink that reminds us of sitting on the toilet at home and reading. Bookstores also have a calming effect that can relax the body (and the bowels!) just enough to get things moving.
MASTER EDITOR- When reading books, do we know better than the editor? Sometimes a toughly worded sentence has me questioning my entire understanding of the English language.
